Design Features and Working Principle

The UC203 bearing is a variant of deep groove ball bearings. Its most distinctive feature is that the outer diameter surface of its outer ring is spherical

. This design allows it to fit into the corresponding concave spherical inner bore of the bearing housing, thereby providing an automatic self-aligning effect that can compensate for initial misalignment caused by installation errors or potential shaft bending. This makes it particularly suitable for applications where the precision of the support base bore is not high or where the shaft might be slightly flexible.


This model of bearing typically employs a set screw design, where set screws are used to fasten the bearing directly onto the shaft for fixation

. The bearings are usually supplied pre-lubricicated and equipped with seals on both sides (such as RSR-type sealing lips), which effectively prevent the ingress of contaminants and enable maintenance-free or low-maintenance operation . It is primarily designed to withstand combined radial and axial loads, where the radial load is dominant, but it is generally not suitable for carrying pure axial loads alone.
